I am a HUGE fan of the podcast The Thrilling Adventure Hour, and I was looking for something to make into a short film, and the recurring character of 'The King of Coffee' (played by Paul F. Tompkins) seemed the perfect fit. I wanted a character that had a dynamic range of emotions so that I could go to extremes with his expressions. The King regularly goes from calm and dignified to raging anger within a couple of words. I have plans to make a short stop-motion film, using a 9 inch puppet of the King. I found a great 3 minute monologue of his, so I can get away with just making one puppet on screen.
one of those "someday" projects...
